My love of the NGL anonymous messages app

I first discovered the very addictive NGL at the end of 2022. I dubbed it ‘Nigel’. If you’re not familiar with Nigel, it’s an app where people can send you messages anonymously. If you want to try out sending a message, here’s my link.

In late 2022, my role as an interior design editor was becoming more and more difficult, and Nigel provided some light relief. I posted up the link on Twitter, and the messages rolled in. As you’d expect of someone with a 90% male follower base, 50% of the messages were about sex and romance. Another 25% were nice messages, 28% were completely random, and maybe 2% were critical.

But virtually no one was actively nasty, which was very heartening. Here was an opportunity for people to say exactly what they felt, safe in the knowledge that they were anonymous - and what they felt tended to be either sexy or heartwarming. I mean, how lovely are these messages? They absolutely made my day.

Then there were the sexy messages

Some of these were way too saucy to post on Twitter, so I’ll post them here instead.
